This not only saves equipment integrity but also reduces production time and improves process efficiency, including the quality of filtration and optimal flow.

How does it work?

ONIS QFC guarantees a safe, efficient, and profitable filter change operation.

How to operate it ?

One cone strainer is on line, while the other is on hold outside of the pipe.

As for an ONIS line blind, the gaskets are accessible for checks or changes while the process is running.

Once the filter is clogged and there is a loss of flow, it is imperative to shut off the upstream and downstream valves and conduct a risk analysis to blind the pipe with an upstream mechanical line blind. After draining the pipe, one operator will proceed as well as a standard ONIS Line blind: The flange spreading movement is generated by efficient and reliable synchronized eccentric shafts, which allow the displacement of the “two linked tubes equipped with strainers”.

This quick-action clamping mechanism is self-locking and resistant to overpressure and vibration.

In less than one minute, the perforated strainer can be changed without the need for pipe spool disassembly, which is a time-consuming and labor-intensive process.

Once the process is back in production, the maintenance team will have the opportunity to insert a cleaned strainer in the hold tube.

Why use a QFC ?

Conical or flat filters must be used to protect downstream equipment. These temporary filters are essential for preventing damage and clogging of pumps, compressors, boosters, and regulation valves in a wide range of applications, including oil, petrochemicals, chemicals, steel, power, water, and food industries.

The primary expense associated with perforated cone filters is not the cost of the filters themselves, but rather the downtime required to disassemble the pipe in order to extract the dirty filter and insert a new one into the pipe spool piece. This process also involves tightening all the bolts and nuts.

Depending on the size of the pipe and the weight of the strainer, the production time lost and the safety risks can be significant.

The Onis Quick Filter Changer can be equipped with two filters for rapid changeover or with one filter and one blinding disc to enable the operator to safely and effectively isolate downstream equipment for maintenance.

The QFC drastically reduces the time it takes to open the pipe, limiting operator exposure and environmental risks.

    What maintenance is needed?

    In the event of damage, only the four seals require replacement. ONIS advises that grease be injected into grease fittings at least once a year. No further maintenance is required.
